Just call me Doctor Mom!

My daughter has had her hours cut at work and doesn’t have her health insurance anymore.  Every time she chips a nail, bumps her leg or gets a sniffle, she comes running to mom.  Then there are some things she will come to me and ask me questions about or describe to me or say oh this is bothering me, gets frustrated because perhaps I don’t have a definite answer because it could be one of many things, I just want to say, sure, hop up on my exam table and let me check you over, now that will be $75 please!  Seriously!  She has a nasty bruise on her lower back by waist area because she slipped and fell at work.  She did NOT file a report which she should of.  Nothing is broken and she can walk just fine, just a nasty bruise, I told her to take some Motrin for the discomfort and she would be okay.  But this girl goes and has to make a huge deal out of it on her Facebook to get the poor poor pitiful me attention and that literally just drives me INSANE!

Sometimes mom just needs a break!

Sometimes mom just needs a break!  I wish my family would get this in their heads but somehow it never happens.  Just when I got to sit down and get some much need scrapping done, something is always coming up.  I keep looking around for the exit signs so I can just tell them all to get out, just for the day and give me some peace and quiet.  I know there is going to come a day where I will miss having everyone here, but seriously when I tell you that I get no alone time, have no privacy even when I am on my computer, I am very serious!  I mean our living room is very open and here I am for all to see, I mean if you were to walk past our house and our front door was open you could see me, well at least the back of my head anyway!  I wish I had my own little room.  Hubby doesn’t want me putting my computer in our room.  He understands a little about the no privacy thing, I mean we as a couple don’t get much alone time to talk without someones ears around.  I tell you when the day comes and those ears are not around all the time I don’t think we are going to do know what to do with ourselves!  In the meantime, mom needs a little time to herself!!

Wish I could get rid of this loveseat!

I wish I could just open up our front door and toss out this blasted loveseat of ours, I just can’t stand to look at it anymore.  My kids (we bought when they were ages of teens) just beat the crap out of it and the one side is more worn (flatter) than the other and I just can’t stand to look at it.  I hate sitting on it.  Hubby and my dad got recliners last fall, which my dad needed with his arthritis so we replaced the couch with those but I just can’t stand this lumpy thing.  I been looking through design furniture catalogs and seen a few I would love to have.  My hubby says I have to wait until the “kids” have moved out.  I am beginning to think that is never going to happen.  Its like I am twisted up about it on the inside, I want them to stay but at the same time I want them to go.  I think momma birds have the right idea, just push them out of the nest and they will either flap those wings and soar, or well, you know!

How do you like Toby!

I finished up another layout with pictures of Toby Keith from the concert last June, yes still working on them, savoring every moment too let me tell you, and these although one of the pictures is a wee bit blurry, I really love this layout!  One of my favorites so far!  Remember all his fans were standing the entire time he was singing so the camera was above my head and I was just taking pictures with luck hoping to get some great shots!

Big screen moment

This picture in my layout just screamed out at me as I was scrapping it.  As Toby was singing the song High Maintenance Woman, the screen would slowly have sticky notes added to it with things to do written on them like fix the dishwasher, and etc and it just totally filled up entirely by the end of the song!  I took the picture at the perfect time!  Love this one!

Memory Lane: Turn back time

Another one of my earlier scrap pages, this is from a photo I had scanned, from when we took the kids to Hershey PA.   My children are now 22, 20 and soon to be 18 so trust me when I say this is definitely a walk down memory lane.  If only with all going on in my life right now I could turn the time back I so would do it in a heartbeat!  There are some things I would of done a little differently like when pulling my son out of public school I would of pulled my daughter out too.  Influence and society really plays a huge role in things once they hit a certain age.  I wish I could freeze time before that happens!

Memory Lane: Watch me grow

I thought we take another walk down Memory Lane with the second scrap layout I ever made.  This our flower bed and we had just planted flowers for the first time at our house we had bought last summer before.  This is one of my favorite layouts.

My hubby and I worked hard on it.  The buckboard wagon you see, that was a gift my dad got for me a few years before this picture and was a big surprise.  I love country things and this was the first time we got to use it in a garden because we were renting before and could not put it out.  Oh this brings back memories of when I had to call for a home insurance quote, and our insurance guy was arguing with me that our new house did NOT have a fireplace.  Yes it does, but it wasn’t showing for him in the property check he was doing.  I had to take the paper into the office from the sale of the house to prove to him, that in fact, we did have a fireplace.  I am guessing previous owners put in and didn’t follow through properly with the city or something but we took care of that let me tell you.    Now our flower bed out front has changed since this photo as we have planted bushes and no longer using mulch as we found out the hard way with mold!  Mulch maybe pretty but now I know why I was always getting sick when I would help hubby tend to our flower beds!  Allergies!
