Tossing the water balloon

September 25, 2007

This a scrap I did from a picture I took in July on a very hot sticky day.  My son  is playing at the neighbor’s house and they had a water balloon toss.  These two were doing very well.   Afterwards I took nice cool treats from the freezer over for all the kiddies that were playing.

What was the harm really?

September 23, 2007

As many know I am a designer assistant for an awesome lady here in the world of digital scrapping. I do enjoy what I do, hosting a weekly chat and getting to know other gals in the digital realm of things.

In an update group for a store that she is co-owner off, they post updates, layouts and things, designers send things through. One of her other gals that host’s a chat for her at that particular store invited us to come. So I went and I felt bad for her that only two showed up for chat, not counting myself. So I thought I post an invite via the update group about the chat seeing how I am working for a co-owner. What happens? I got called on the carpet and what is more is in front of the entire update group about it. Was that really necessary? Honestly??

Seriously what was the harm?? You know its ok for others to go around who are on their creative teams, or their advertising person or for us gals who buy their products and use them and post them in galleries all over to mention things but for me to just say hey I have chat coming up in 15 minutes if you like to join me your welcome? Are you serious?? What harm was that and exactly what did I do wrong??

She could of handled that off the group not through the group. Needless to say I emailed the girl I assist and I left that update group to NEVER return. That was uncalled for and I can tell you this much I will never use or purchased off this particular person that did that either!!!

How would she like it? I didn’t do anything wrong. I didn’t advertise, send an ad, or any links just let them know I was hosting a chat for one of the co-owners and where if they like to come. Nothing more.. Nothing less.

So I left the group and emailed the gal I help to let her know how upset I am and further more I won’t be spending any of my monies at the other scrap store. I won’t. Not after that. I will shop else where as I will not help support the person who mishandled this situation!!!!

Body Shop Supplies

September 23, 2007

A great field to get into career wise is body shop work. There are so many talented young men out there, my nephew and stepson included, who really love this type of work. First important factor is getting the training you need. Once you have done that is time to purchase the body shop supplies, whether your starting your own business or working for another one, they require you to have your own tools. From hand tools to power tools, getting quality tools at an affordable price is important when you just starting out.

Grab Bags…

September 20, 2007

I have had the worst luck with getting Grab Bags from Scrap Stores. It sounds really good and your all excited to get the grab bags and they are full of stuff you would never use! What do you do? Its not like you can go back and complain you know. I mean its just like if your at a store and you purchase a grab bag, its a great deal until you open it. Then you get home and your like what is this. Well its a chance you take. Now what I don’t do is buy grab bags anymore. I am not saying they are all bad, just with the few I have purchased, I ended up just deleting and throwing them away!! So because I have had bad luck with them I just choose not to buy them. I see what I am getting for my money.

I had someone ask me if I recommended buying Grab Bags and I have to tell you, based strictly ALONE on some I have purchased, I don’t recommend it. Save your money watch for sale’s if you can’t afford the full price. I have had better luck in getting full kits for $1.00 then I have on buying a Grab Bag for $2.00

Dancing with Grandpa

September 19, 2007

This is a very special scrap and I waited weeks for the perfect kit!!  This is a scrap of my daughter and my father dancing at my husband’s niece’s wedding reception.  Watching them dance brought tears to my eyes.  It’s a moment that we will always remember in our hearts.

The journaling reads:  Sarah, You will forever treasure this moment on the dance floor with grandpa.  As you danced, you had a tear in your eye, for you love your grandpa  so very much.
