What’s a parent to do?

It is so hard being a parent today. I was just peeking at what my daughter was doing on the laptop as she was on her myspace account and seen that a friend of hers was upset about a friend who is abusing drugs. I really wish there was drug treatment centers close by that worked with the financial means of the family so they could get the help they need. I think that is a big problem for so many families, not having the means to get their loved ones the care they need.

It’s so hard not to worry about my stepson and his financial habits. Hubby just got off the phone with him and shaking his head. He still is not keeping track of his financial obligations and for this time around he is going to get a payday loan to get himself back in the plus. The most important thing is he must budget this out of his pay since he is already going to be using the money so he doesn’t end up in this position again. I wish I had a say in some things but with the way his mom is, I don’t feel I do, but I would help him if he brought his checkbook and receipts over and make him have accountability, I think I could get him on track. Let’s just hope this works!!

Sometimes the mentality of some people really surprises me. When we were at hubby’s company party I over heard some of the technical department guys talking about equipment they want the owner to replace. Its just a bit tight right now with the economy the way it is and them starting a small shop down south. I don’t see a problem buying a used cisco router or other network equipment at all, especially during tough times like this. I think I would be very upset to find out if they just purchased brand new without considering this avenue, since they do that with the big machines the guys use in the shop, so if you can trust them, why not the router?
