Finding a reliable host can be frustrating

I was asked what is the most frustrating part in having your own website, and for me that is simple, finding a great web hosting site. I have been to the mill and back when it comes to finding a host. I stumbled across a web hosting reviews site and let me tell you I wish I would of had this link a long time ago! For anyone out there wanting to expand from a free hosting such as say a blog, to getting your own domain, the most important step is finding a web host that is reliable, dependable, you should definitely check out webhostinggeeks.com. Not only do they give you the top 10 web hosting companies, but there is a section on their site where you as a customer can leave a review about the quality of service they received, if they are dependable, or really offer a crappy service. I myself have left a few reviews. For me its like saying buyer beware, don’t make the mistake I did, and hope to try and help others avoid the same issues I did. In the course of a few years, I have been through at least 8 hosting companies. Now if for some reason the experience I have with my current host turns sour, I will definitely visiting Web Hosting Geeks to make finding my next host easier and hopefully a more reliable company.

Physical Education and Homeschooling

I have to say one of the toughest things about my son attending school at home over the computer is physical education class.  But so many parents just don’t realize what all goes into that.  Everything from walking a trail at a park, bike riding, playing a neighborhood game of football, baseball and basketball, to purchasing weight equipment or workout Cd’s.  There are so many options available to you and many parents don’t realize this.  You don’t need to be in a class at school for forty minutes a day, when 10 of those minutes are in a dressing area changing into and out of gym clothes.  Then by the time teacher takes attendance, talks to the class, that is another 5 minutes, they are actually only getting 25 minutes of physical activity.  Tell me when you are out at a park walking a trail or bike riding, or playing a game your actually putting more time towards physical education.  So those parents who choose for their children to attend school at home, don’t sweat the small stuff when others who think what your doing is not the best option for your child.  Trust me I deal with it each and everyday and you get to a point where you just want to say talk to the hand!

Do you use templates?

As a digital or paper scrapper, do you use templates?  I have yet to use one myself.  I see so many pretty quick pages and brag books.  I see so many different templates out there and I bet they are simple to use.  But for me I like doing it from scratch, starting with my blank 8×8 page.  I take great pride in each of my scrap pages that I do!

So if your a fellow scrapper and visiting today, tell me do you use templates?

Who doesn’t love em?

Don’t you just love promotional pens that you collect from various places?  I was cleaning out my desk yesterday and finding all these pens and thinking where did they come from, I mean I don’t go anywhere during the day so where did they all come from?  My dad!  Today when he came home from the mall he walked over to my desk and tossed in some pens.  I asked him where on earth are you finding all these pens at?  He says they pass them out at the mall, or he snags them when he goes to see his doctors, to bring me home something.  I thought that was so sweet, but hope he can find some that are not just black ink!  I don’t really like to use black ink!  I love to use blue and when I can find them, pink ink pens.  I kid you not, I could fill a shoe box right now!!

Its all about the lighting

I have really noticed with some of the photos that I take, it really is all about the lighting in the room or area you are in. I don’t have a real fancy digital camera but love the one that I do, but have noticed some of my photos really have some lighting issues as of late. I can’t put my finger on it, but I notice a difference in my photos. My camera is only a year old. So perhaps i should explore new cameras and see what I should save up for. I really wish I had one that had a great zoom feature!!
