Last night just before hubby went to bed, my hubby went into his bedroom to talk to him and hubby noticed this hole in the wall, just under the light switch! Its round and a bit bigger than the size of a pencil. So when my hubby asked when he did that, my son played the wrong card, he played the stupid card. Then it started. Now its his room, no one else lives in there, goes in there, its his space and we don’t invade. I did take his clothes in yesterday, when I folded them because I didn’t want his work clothes to have wrinkles and I didn’t even see that hole! So they argument started and I said something to my son, he got smart with me and let me tell you, grandpa isn’t the only one who needs to consider buying some short term life insurance, as that boy come close to needing some last night! After everything I have been through with his sister who has been gone since May 9th, I am so not going down that path with him. No way! No how! No chance!

This morning, as I started my laundry and made a cup of coffee, I sat down to check my email, as sale email reminders come in and I got an email that the Scrap Artist is closing up, after being in business for five years! Its always sad to see that happen, and I often wonder is it because there are so many new ones opening? Is it possible there are many scrappers out there who were not aware they were open? So by September 15th they will be closed. I wish them all the best!

I got a layout finished, and I know what your going to think, its August and I have a Christmas layout, but I have so many pictures I want to get done. This was for my PSE class for adding and using fonts. Now I understand when you post in a gallery some will leave their opinions and comments on it but I realize the colors of this layout are bright and stand out where the photo is opposite, however that was the effect I wanted. If you knew what my son went through this school year, for him to see this photo and layout I want the colors to jump at him first, not the memories of that school year, while I wanted to scrap what I think is a handsome picture of my son:

Kit- Christmas Cheer by Connie Prince

My son really loved this layout! That is what matters most to me, especially since he picked the kit out! So while a few think the colors take away from the photo, from a personal aspect from our home, that isn’t important to us!

Last night while the power was out and it was dark we heard this loud noise down the hall, well the medicine cabinet in the back bathroom came crashing down. What a mess to clean up! Good thing the power was out because generally on top of that cabinet is where the hurricane lamps are kept, to light! I use one in the main bathroom and one in the kitchen. I had one of my candles going in the living room, blueberry cheesecake scent too! So today I been looking online for a replacement cabinet. I love having the Internet to window shop! I seen a Robern Medicine cabinet that was just gorgeous and I thought hey maybe one day when the house is empty and its just down to hubby and I we can get one of those! The way my dad slams things I would be very upset if he broke the mirror in it or something. We take pride in our home and when you do home improvements and make investments you think long term in your mind. However when someone lives in your home that doesn’t really care about things, well then those things tend to get broken more often!

I been sitting out on our porch for the past few evenings and I am just baffled. We have some solar powered landscape lighting lamps out in the front of our yard where we planted some new things this year. For the life of me I don’t understand why they are not working. I have taken them apart, checked to make sure no one switched them off, even replaced a few bulbs and I waited until evening time and they still will not come on! I don’t know if the rain got down inside somehow or what? So now I am keeping my eyes out on some new landscape lighting for out in the front area, however being its this late in the season I will just tuck them away until spring time. I love to have some that are styled like little square lanterns hanging off a shepherd style hook! I think that would look very nice!

I got one of my class lessons done today, it was about fonts and the different font management programs you can use in place of installing every font you want to use in a layout. However I have not had any luck finding a program like this for my apple. I will have to see if, like in windows, just having a font open will show up in the program and be able to use it without installing it.

I am behind a bit in my PSE classes, between the sinusitis and ear infection, then hubby getting a stomach bug and some other fun real life issues, I am just a bit behind!

This is a layout I did for the lesson I did on templates. This is the first time I have ever used a template to make a scrap layout. I always have done my layouts starting with a blank canvas! But this was a unique template I think!

Kit-Embers Glow by Sweet Digi Scraps

Template: Weave Me, Weave Me by Graham Like the Cracker

I liked the weaving effect on the side and using the papers in the cut and cutting them, just really made this a unique layout I think! I really love the rich colors of this one too. This is a picture I took on a walk I took a few years ago!

This is a layout starring my adorable kitty Twinkle! She just love to lay any where and literally everywhere, you just never know where you might find here. One morning this was where I found her laying:

Kit- Essential Spring by Lindsey Jane

Paperclip by Hummie

Now generally where Twinkle is laying, is where I keep the bananas, but this was a Monday morning and I had not did my grocery shopping yet! She just fit in my Longaberger pie dish didn’t she!

This layout also is an end result for a PSE lesson, for the paperclip! I added the bow as the paperclip was just by itself, and the bow is from the kit I used to do my layout. I like the different ways to erase in PSE, like it just not an erased and based on pixel size, but you can choose a brush style and everything!

Well my birthday is around the corner and my son is asking me what I would like for my birthday. I really don’t know to be honest. I still need to scrap the pictures from last year still as the only picture I have scrapped so far is the picture of the cake. He asked me if I wanted an ipad. Sure I love to have one but that is like buying a netbook and not sure if that is a birthday type present you know? He laughed and said to me come on mom, you got the ipod and a mac so if you got the ipad you have a full set. I wonder how the ipad warranty works? If its like the warranty I got when I got my mac or not? I know the ipad can do many things and he said just think you could be sitting on the love seat and scrapping a layout. I seriously don’t see that happening!! I told him it be like having a giant size ipod and I probably use it more for reading, music and some games, but I did not see scrapping. I don’t even think Photoshop would work on it and no way I could scrap like that. He said if he is working by then, that is what he wants to buy me. Bless his heart! I want him to safe his money because he needs a car!

I found this photo that I am guessing my Aunt took of my dad and my Uncle in my dads room, so I scanned it so I could scrap it. I think this was when they were staying at a hotel and dad went to visit them at a half way mark to where they were heading. Odds are they were on their way to New Jersey!

Kit- Michael by Laraskathi

This really brought back some memories of when I was little and my dad would go to visit my aunt and uncle for a weekend and sometimes I would get to go! My aunt always made crepes and we put butter and jelly on them and roll them up! My uncle passed away not too much longer after this photo was taken.

This layout is also a result of learning a technique in PSE for rounded corners! I am finding I am adjusting to PSE fairly well so far, but I have not gotten into any of the hard stuff yet, still just the basic use of the tools and such. I am having fun learning and scrapping a memory at the same time.

I am a bit under the weather at the moment but thought I post my layout since its been a few days since I blogged. I see I forgot to log into my free 4Shared account so now all my old download links are invalid. I updated the Scrapbook Max Freebies, which there is only four now.

Unless Scrapbook Max is Mac compatible I will not be adding anymore freebies to them. I will only be offering the four in the meantime with fingers crossed they will update! Unless I can use my son’s computer once in while, we shall see!

I got another layout down and again was one I did for a tutorial lesson. I was learning how recolor in PSE. I have to tell you I am really missing the old way in PSP, it just to me, seemed easier, plus I was able to save the settings once I found a color and shade I liked and thought hey I might use this again!

Kit- Funky Mini Kit by Jolly Kids Creations by Marie

For the tutorial lesson, I took a pink shade paper that was in the kit and recolored it to the yellow/green shade to make the border trim under the polka dot paper on the left side. It took a little playing with the sliders in the hue area of PSE but after a bit of playing I finally got it! I love this photo, its often that the girls, Misty (in back) and Twinkle will lay together, either on the love seat or on a bed, but it was a rare to see them share where they were laying!!
