Memory Lane: Watch me grow

I thought we take another walk down Memory Lane with the second scrap layout I ever made. This our flower bed and we had just planted flowers for the first time at our house we had bought last summer before. This is one of my favorite layouts.

My hubby and I worked hard on it. The buckboard wagon you see, that was a gift my dad got for me a few years before this picture and was a big surprise. I love country things and this was the first time we got to use it in a garden because we were renting before and could not put it out. Oh this brings back memories of when I had to call for a home insurance quote, and our insurance guy was arguing with me that our new house did NOT have a fireplace. Yes it does, but it wasn’t showing for him in the property check he was doing. I had to take the paper into the office from the sale of the house to prove to him, that in fact, we did have a fireplace. I am guessing previous owners put in and didn’t follow through properly with the city or something but we took care of that let me tell you. Now our flower bed out front has changed since this photo as we have planted bushes and no longer using mulch as we found out the hard way with mold! Mulch maybe pretty but now I know why I was always getting sick when I would help hubby tend to our flower beds! Allergies!
Chilled to the bones

You heard that song, bad to the bone? Just change bad to chilled. I’m chilled to the bone! Our house is just so chilly all the time. I don’t know how hubby can walk around in just a t-shirt all the time, no socks in the evening after his bath (or slippers for that matter) and here I am with layers of clothes on, warm fuzzy shocks and my hands are ice cold! The thermostat is set between 70 and 72! Doesn’t feel like that at all! I been looking at heated mattress pads, thinking of getting one for my dads bed, and one for ours. My dad has a hospital bed, and its a little longer than the average twin mattress so I wonder if I would have a hard time finding one to fit right? Hubby would probably not want his side to be warm, he probably crawl in bed and complain how warm it was with my luck. He keeps teasing me saying he is going to get me gloves to wear around the house. Now how am I suppose to get my chores done and scrap with gloves on?
Memory Lane: My first scrap layout

I thought every now and then I am going to do a few memory lane posts and post some of my favorite layouts in between those I am working on. I thought I start with my very first scrap layout ever!

I started digi scrapping May, 2007, which is just two months shy of three years ago! Wow where does the time ago. I got a digital camera for Mother’s Day, my PINK one! Hubby and I went to Headlands Beach and I took some pretty pictures of Lake Erie! Its amazing how I can look at this layout and remember that afternoon. It was later afternoon and cool, very cool. But the view was oh so beautiful! So this is my first walk down memory lane!
Oh did I get a picture to scrap!

I was taking my camera down the hall to take a picture of my kitty Raskal, he just my baby and was sleeping on grandpas bed (my dad) and I wanted to take his picture, I walked past my daughters room and she is looking at all the pictures of herself that she uploaded and making little comments like, oh that’s nice, oh that is really nice! Oh is she full of herself or what? Twenty years old, totally cracks me up! So I zoomed the camera in to get the shot, she knew by then I was taking a picture and stuck her tongue out at me but doesn’t realize I zoomed in so you can see all the pictures of herself on the screen! Wait till I scrap that one! She is now in her room and currently getting her neutrogena skin id! I think on her next pay she is going to order one of their kits to try! She keeps asking me what my id is. A state one ha ha!
Wow, blog has been open how long?

Wow I get several who come and just happen to find me and see that I have a few scrap freebies up for grabs. They didn’t realize how long I have been around. I am thinking maybe I should use one of those seo tools and get myself listed and out there more! I would love to connect with more scrappers. Maybe team with a few others and we could make some freebie theme kits together or something. With all the stress of caregiving here at home I have put a lot of things I enjoy on the back burner but decided its time to get back into what I enjoy doing. I have to start doing things I enjoy or want, not continuing to put things off. So I am going to be a woman on a mission so I want to get the scrap blog back on track! Connect with other scrappers and just have fun and enjoy it!
Where did those bags come from?

Oh man, where did those bags under my eyes come from? How long are they staying? Not for much longer let me tell you as I am looking for the best night cream to try and going to see what I can do about getting rid of those bags and dark circles. Sleep would be helpful too I think. My doctor offered a sleeping pill but with all the current medications I am on, not to mention being a caregiver, I am not comfortable with the idea of taking one. What if my dad has a COPD attack in the middle of the night? He has a few of those a month, and I don’t hear him? I can’t have that. Do you know how guilty I would feel if he needed help and I couldn’t hear him because I was knocked out from some medication?
What is with these tools in Photoshop Elements? I have to tell you it takes me a bit longer to do one layout in Photoshop than it ever did in Paint Shop Pro. Why can’t they make a Mac version? I tell you they would make some good money if they did, I knew several gals who would buy it!
Another layout with Toby finished!

I finished up that layout I was working of Toby tonight. I spent most of the afternoon talking with a dear friend, got dinner done and everyone was quiet here, so I thought I get it finished. I love this one, check it out

Yeah I have to say this one is one of the good ones, remember now these were all by chance, all taken from over my head! I remember a few of his fans saying how Toby put a little weight on. It has to be hard with traveling on a tour bus all the time to find the time to eat right, you know? I seen hubby reading adipex reviews tonight. I sat down and talk to him again about portion control and cutting back. Like instead of having four pieces of toast on Sunday’s, only have two with his eggs. What does he say? He just won’t have eggs anymore! I swear that man sometimes frustrates the heck out of me!
